Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)

EMDR is a rapid treatment approach that activates the Adapting Information Processing in the brain. The AIP model posits that EMDR therapy facilitates the accessing and processing of traumatic memories and other adverse life experience to bring these to an adaptive resolution. After successful treatment with EMDR therapy, affective distress is relieved, negative beliefs are reformulated and physiological arousal is reduced.

Intensive EMDR session/sessions:

By using an intensive approach, these results can be reached within hours or consecutive days. This approach is time-specific, goal-driven, depth-oriented and highly concentrated. As you reserve your space, Dr. Yashira Oropeza-Diaz will only meet with you during that time.

Intensive EMDR is usually helpful for people that are unable to commit to the once-a-week therapy sessions due to schedule, distance or other personal reasons. This model also reduces barrieres of coordination of schedule and time, as you could only ned to be in attendance for your reserved time.

Time based on needs and number of "targets" selected (situations to process):

  • 1 Half day session

  • 1 Full day session

  • 3 Day session

  • 1 Week session

***Requires triage interview to determine amount of time needed. The cost of the Intensive EMDR sessions will be determined after the triage interview is completed.***
