We provide evidence based treatment including, but not limited to:

Yashira Oropeza-Diaz photo
Yashira Oropeza-Díaz, Psy.D., M.S.C.P., LMHC, CCTP, MA-PGS

Graduated in Clinical Psychology from Carlos Albizu University in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 2012 and a post-doctoral master's degree in Clinical Psychopharmacology from Alliant International University in San Francisco, California, in 2015.  Yashira is a fully bilingual (English/Spanish) Clinical Psychologist and Licensed Mental Health Counselor.  She possesses academic appointments as Instructor at Tufts Medical School and UMass Medical School. She also serves as a Clinical Supervisor and Consultant in mental health clinics in the community. 

 

Yashira is an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) trained therapist and provides this service in both weekly therapy format, or intensive, short term processing interventions for recent traumatic episodes, and stress.

 

Dr. Oropeza-Diaz is a Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Certified Clinician (TF-CBT), and a Certified Clinical Trauma Practitioner (CCTP) from the International Association of Trauma Professionals. She has been also certified as a Problem Gambling Specialist (MA-PGS) since 2012.

During her professional career, Dr. Oropeza-Diaz has been trained in trauma infomed interventions such as Attachment, Self-Regulation and Competency (ARC) framework, and the Structure Sensory Interventions for Children, Adolescents and Parents (SITCAP). Both evidence based trauma interventions respectively.  She has provided services to community based health centers serving families and has collaborated with multicultural consultation to the Trauma Center at JRI for the Complex Trauma Treatment Training project. 

Currently, Dr. Oropeza-Díaz provides consultation and training in trauma informed practices in the community in collaboration with the University of Massachussetts, Medical School, Child Trauma Training Center.  She also provides clinical supervision to doctoral students from the University of Hartford and post-doctoral residents in psychology.

Ananda Hernandez-Rivera photo
Ananda Hernández-Rivera, Psy.D., M.S.C.P., ADS, MA-PGS

Graduated in Clinical Psychology from Carlos Abizu University in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 2012 and a post- doctoral master's degree in Clinical Psychopharmacology from Alliant International University in San Francisco, California, in 2015.  He is a fully bilingual (English/Spanish) Clinical Psychologist.  Ananda is a certified Problem Gambling Specialist (MA-PGS), and an Acu-Detox Specialist from the National Auricular Detoxification Association.

 

During his professional career, Dr. Hernandez-Rivera has been trained in substance abuse treatment, suicide prevention, Motivational Interviewing, (MI) and smoking cessation treatment.  He has also received training from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) in Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (S-BIRT). He has provided services to community based health centers serving individuals and families, as well as clinical supervision to post-doctoral residents in Psychology.

 

Currently, Dr. Hernández-Rivera carries out disability evaluations for the Department of Social Services (DSS) and community mental health services in Western Mass and Hartford County.

He also provides assessment, evaluations, individual therapy and supervision in Western Mass and is a faculty member and Doctoral Internship Supervisor at the Multicultural Psychology Internship Program in Springfield, MA.
